Pouvoirs n°17 - Le pouvoir dans l’Église - septembre 1981 - p.143-152
Uplifted by the Christianity of the first centuries, virginity in its connection withe truth should allow woman to react the status of a subject. But this ambivalence can be solved in the wife-mother model. As woman is inevitably subdued to man in a fusion whose prototype is marriage, she cannot have access to power.
Nevertheless the institutionalisation of women’s religions life seems to bring to life again the problem of women’s power, at least of an elite. But power is still being confiscated by clergymen. Only through women’s rebellion within the church itself do women recover their own bodies, express themselves differently, they are ready to size power, nonetheless wanting undoubtedly to make something different of it.
