The Vatican Government. The Reform of the Curia

At least since the Council of Trent, the Catholic Church has always had trouble with reform. yet, reform appeared as a necessity after the end of the pontiicate of Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis was elected by the cardinals to reform the governance of Catholicism. But Francis’reform goes beyond the renewal of the structures of the Curia. It calls for a conversion of the minds and a far-reaching reappraisal of the style of governing of Peter’s successor, based on a greater collegiality and synodality, to take up the challenges faced by a globalized Church of 1.2 billion believers.
