Pouvoirs n°33 - Les sondages - avril 1985 - p.41-56
The rate of no response to political questions depends on the sociological predispositions the political participation level and the ideological orientation.
Although linked together, each of these characteristics exerts an independent influence. The structure of results of these three types of variables leads to complicated phenomena of reinforcement or, on the other hand, to a compensation for the handicaps stemming from the lowering of statutes and roles. One notes in particular the importance of politico-ideological mediation in the structuration of the relationship between statutory position and participation in the political world : political motivation and orientation to the left tend to bring the achievement level of under-privileged groups close to those of the educated and for the leading classes.
