Secularism, which is a religious invention, is found at the very heart of the political and cultural history of Islam. In order to fight it, the theologians elaborated the « System of the muslim norm » which encompasses morals, faith, ethics, law and the Arts. The future of this system is put into jeopardy by the various forms of modem secularism. Fundamentalism has taken upon itself to defend the integrity of this system.
