Allocations for the National assembly

In a representative democracy, every citizen has the right to know the nature and the extent of legislative alternatives available to lawmakers. In principle, they determine the very use of constitutional privileges of the National assembly.

But, usually the public is badly informed about the considerable effort undertaken in this area in recent years. And this ignorance has created real myths such as the one about legislative salaries.

In fact, the problem is not so much to know whether the National assembly is endowed with the power of action of modem parlementary assemblies - it has nothing to envy its foreign counterparts - but to make sure that its means correspond to the development of the role of the Lower Chamber under the Fifth Republic and its power is in fact used.
